Diaper Rashes and How I Deal with Them

My baby is under 8 months and had his first of the many run-ins with diaper rash. He is teething and sometimes it appears because of acid.

One who does is William Sears, pediatrician and author of The Baby Book. Sears believes that teething can cause diarrhea and a mild diaper rash because your baby's excessive saliva ends up in his gut and loosens his stools.-- Excerpt from Babycenter
I also believe that it is possible to experience diaper rash when introducing solid foods in his diet. While many believe to let it dry or put ointment, what I have done and it is very effective, is to apply Calmoseptine. It is an ointment for rashes, burns and diaper rash as well.

Within 3 days of applying the ointment every nappy change, there is considerable effect and the rash starts to dry and close up. There is one thing that I noticed though, when the rash is starting to heal, it turns black although it eventually fades in time.
